Fiction About Courageous Women
This is a personal shelf, put together by Nitin Antoon, author of Meera of Karmana. It has no scores, no points, and no numbered rank — the books are listed alphabetically by title, including Meera of Karmana itself, wherever it happens to fall in the alphabet.
These are novels that share a thread with Meera's own story: women and girls who train, endure, resist, or simply insist on choosing their own path. Some are centuries-old classics, some came out this year, some are epic fantasy and some are quiet realism. Inclusion here is one reader's opinion, not an award, not a bestseller list, and not an endorsement from the other authors or publishers — most of whom have no connection to this site at all.
Each entry carries two or three theme tags — Independence, Resilience, Leadership, Resistance, Courage, Solidarity, Self-Discovery, Reinvention, Identity, Survival, or Justice — marking which forms of empowerment the book leans on most, in Nitin Antoon's reading of it. These are descriptive labels, not a score: no book is rated higher or lower than another, and no points are attached to any tag.
